The LJI Story

In 1985, Leslie put on her first Tyvek Jacket. It was so comfortable, water-resistant and windproof that she decided to introduce this amazing product to the active sports community. Runners, walkers and cyclists alike fell in love with the lightweight insulating quality of the jackets while event organizers delighted in the graphic capabilities of Tyvek.

Eventually, after establishing her thriving Tyvek apparel business, Leslie decided to expand into the T-shirt business. Two factors contributed to this expansion. First, performance, moisture wicking fabrics were developed, opening the new niche of technical active wear. Second, race directors learned that they could increase efficiency and price points by purchasing all or most of their gear from a single source.

Leslie found herself in a strong position. In addition to accumulating years of manufacturing expertise from converting rolls of Tyvek into jackets and accessories in place, Leslie had established strong partnerships with the factories that produce her products. In addition, she had a full, in-house staff of R&D specialists, garment designers, graphic designers and logistics personnel. These assets yielded several key advantages: 1) The ability to design and produce a unique product line, specialized for the athletic event community, 2) Control over every step of production, from fabric development to sewing, printing and shipping, 3) The ability to offer a superior garment at an extremely competitive price by going factory-direct.

Leslie Jordan continues to expand her vast line of quality performance apparel and accessories. Beyond Tyvek Jackets and performance t-shirts, she offers sport towels, sport-gloves, arm warmers, beanies, socks and more. Her tried and true microfiber and fleece jackets, vented microfiber sport hats and nonwoven and poly totes and backpacks are standard gear for hundreds of long-standing events, as well as for those just starting out.
